War on the Horizon

As Thomas MacCaulay once proclaimed, ''Peace is but a time when nations prepare for war''. It has only ever been a question of how long peace can last on the server and it seems the time for war has arrived.

Over the past few days several attacks occurred against both the kingdoms of the Last Alliance and SubZero. Reports say that Minas Tirith was left with minor damage to certain structures left outside the towny protection. The attackers have admitted to being from the town of SubZero. Witnesses say that more specifically ''nano, joey and twig'' were seen committing the act.

SubZero on the other hand has reportedly lost multiple train tracks, a mob spawner, fences, stone and a dragon egg. Investigators are unsure who the perpetrators are but experts speculate that Minas Tirith may be behind the strike.

Reporters claim that only SubZero has suffered casualties with Twigman going down twice to Grimmonator. Once near the town of MileSide and once out in the wilderness. Supposedly the kills were in self defense and in defense of the city.

Now comes the question. Will this series of skirmishes boil over into total war? Reports say that SubZero has an attack planned for the weekend. However the magnitude and tactics of the strike remain unclear. Minas Tirith has buffed their defenses and built a forward outpost in preparation of this assault. If the offensive begins, Minas Tirith will most probably declare war and counter-attack with massive force. When Mr_Freshh was asked of his stance he replied, ''An assault on the people of the nation of the Last Alliance will not be tolerated''. No comment was given by the members of SubZero.

Now it all depends on the actions of the other towns and the movements of SubZero. Peace may last, however it seems evermore likely that war may erupt in the next days. The involvement of other towns is unclear, but rumor has it Spardacus may be out to aid Minas Tirith.

Only time can tell. We must wait and see.

To Grief or not to Grief?

Let's make this a short article for a change. There has been much discussion on whether structures in the wilderness can be broken without penalty. Most people believe this is banned and have therefore behaved outside town. This would be following the pre-October rules.

If one was to go to spawn they would find a simple message there stating that ''Anything can be broken in the wilderness''. This clears up most questions about griefing quite well. There are some aspects that require further clarification such as: What about chests in the wilderness? Well from where I stand I can say that this one is up to interpretation however I'm quite certain that if you can break a house you can rob a chest.

Let's not have anymore discussions about grief or no grief on the server anymore dear readers. Really if you don't believe me have a look at the spawn for yourself.

Economics: Stock prices crashing with food costs rising

General prices at the stock market for goods (Ores, building mats, misc) have reached a record low. Diamond, a good indicator of a healthy economy, dipped down below the 400s to a final value of 370.64$. Compared to 2 weeks ago, when the price was 550, this is a real hard hit for the server. So what is causing this decline? One Server Times investigated and found some shocking results.

The problem originates within the system itself, not within the playerbase. The cash hungry towny system causes people to sell to the stock market in bulk. This in turn lowers the prices of goods that nobody is going to buy anyway. The few people that actually purchase items in the store don't buy large quantities and so the prices return to normal, only after long periods of time. A lowering in upkeep would be necessary to stop this spiral or an increase in consumption could help too.

Food costs are rising as well seeing as bread has crossed the 5.5$ mark as of today. Edible items are being bought faster than people can sell and so a steady rise in prices is occuring. And to make things worse, if someone were to buy bread in bulk, the price would shoot even higher.

Dear readers, I now ask that you begin buying out all the useless cheap items in the store and begin selling bread to the market. Only by these efforts can we as the people fix the economy. If we fail to do so I fear an economic depression may be ahead of us.

Starting off with a very neat shot of Macauleigh in his finest of skins seen so far. The addition of the bow really compliments the style of the whole outfit. I don't see why he should ever wear armor as it covers this fine piece of art underneath.
